It can not be forgotten that in the air, since few years, there is another 'service provider' (in essence national) who intends to assert itself: it is Tivuitalia owned by Screen Service, which provides a first 'coup' .. .
Tivuitalia S.p.A., a company fully owned by Screen Service Broadcasting Technologies, was awarded the contract to broadcast on its digital terrestrial multiplex, the three national channels Sportitalia: Sportitalia, Sportitalia, Sportitalia 2 and 24. The contract will last four years (two plus two) with a total annual value of approximately EUR 8 million, including a guaranteed minimum of 4.5 million and a variable on the coverage as achieved during the performance of the contract.
The three Sportitalia channels will continue to be visible respectively on channels 60, 61 and 62, suitably retuned. ''This is the first lease of transmission capacity signed by Tivuitalia that a few months after attaining the status of digital network operator (mux), can enhance its existing assets, confirming the quality of the strategy undertaken - can be read in a note -. The definition of this contract, places Tivuitalia as a Network operator which can provide transmission capacity for digital national and international content providers, interest in entering in the Italian television market. This goal is particularly important in a competitive scenario where the availability of transmission capacity will be an increasingly scarce resource, due to the high distribution of content in high definition (HD) quality standards and growing.'' ''We are delighted that Sportitalia chose our project and gave confidence to Tivuitalia - said Antonio Mazzara, President of Tivuitalia and CEO of the parent Screen Service -. With this contract Tivuitalia enters fully into the category of network operators, like the related business unit of Gruppo Editoriale L'Espresso Italy and Telecom Italia Media, owners of transmission assets comparable to ours, in which the market has long since learned to understand the value''.
