Hallo Dave,
Hello Dave, recently you purchased a Screen Service Transmitter. Can you please list a few reasons that encouraged you to buy our products??
The Screen Service Transmitter is compact, easy to install and has remote access to monitor its status. Those are great attributes for a remote installation. Had I known of this product earlier I would have specified it for other locations.
You have been in broadcast engineering for quite some time now. Can you tell us what attracted you to this market and the most exciting experience you have had during your career so far?
Broadcast Engineering in small markets involves many areas of expertise and is always a challenge so it’s a great profession for problem solvers. I have been involved in Radio & TV for almost 50 years, I have designed & manufactured several types of transmitters & receivers, and I am still amazed that signals are actually transmitted through the air.
Many changes have occurred in the past and are happening right now in the broadcasting world. If we asked you to tell us the most challenging change you have dealt with and the most challenging change you expect to see in the future, what would your response be?
In TV something is always happening and from an engineering perspective there are always challenges to get more functions from less revenue. Being creative in that area will make a substantial difference to small market stations as changes occur in the delivery of programming to the public. Finding new younger talent to fill the computer aspects of TV may be easier than the RF and infrastructure parts of the business will be a challenge.
Your work experience with Catamaunt Broadcasting has been for some time now. Please tell us the best part of your job?
As the Chief Engineer in small market stations there is a lot of responsibility, but also considerable latitude to achieve results in creative ways and I find that to be interesting and stimulating.
